what bible are you reading thumper?
dave
I'm not thumper, of course,. but have found it utterly amazing that there are now 16 or 17 different versions of the bubble, errr bible, to read today. Each one has had to change words here and there (for laymen reading or numerous other reasons) and, upon my last 7 yrs of intense religious studies ... one question...
We lived for eons using ONE version of the bible. Now, suddenly, in the past 15 yrs we need 15 more to choose from? <http://www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible> Mankind, from the pious to scholars, have studied THE bible of their choice. And regardless if we had one (for centuries) whether people used one or 16 ... they still look to their clergy and The Church for confirmation of context. Everyone thumps the bible to have it read what they "want it to read."
Is the bible worth reading at all? http://www.infidels.org/library/historical/lemuel_washburn/bible_worth_reading.html#6 <-- it's a Rainbow Religion.
I'm a freethinker and adhere to those common sense rules as best as I can without 600 pages of gibberish that has mankind studying it STILL for thousands of years.

say about you.
- Be severe toward yourself; be kind to your fellow-man.
- Do not give advice that you cannot follow.
- Do not thank God for what man does.
- Serve neither God nor Mammon, but humanity alone.
- Do not try to be perfect as a "Father in heaven," but try to be better than you yourself are.
- Seek first to improve the earth, and heaven will be of less consequence.
