You can definitely get your loan forgiven if you have a statement from a Dr. stating that your disability impeded you from paying it. I got my loans while disabled and then when I had to leave my 7 yr. job with the state, I submitted my statement of disability and they were forgiven. Have you made an appt with the Dr. in question to discuss the forms. Alot of times my forms get lost in the office, or the Dr. holds onto them waiting for me to come in.

You can definitely get them forgiven. Is this the only Dr. you have? Go to another one if necessary, but it sounds like mis-communication or something not so personal. I mean if your Dr. refuses to sign something saying you're disabled, he/she is lying right?
