I had the same problems with my catheter stuff and ended up getting a urinary diversion, also called an Indiana pouch. They rebuild your bladder, make a hole in your belly area which does not leak at lets you nin/out cath when you need to. I can tell when my bladder is full others put themselves on a schedule. Its a rough surgery but its worth its weight in gold! (pee is about that color?) As long as you keep the catheters very, very clean you can use them over and over and I seldom get a uti now. I buy 30 at a time and use 2 a day--one during the day, one at night. After using one it goes in a bleach/water solution until they are all used then are boiled for 20 minutes, air dried and put in a zip lock. Its something to think about. :)
