My home health nurse finally suggested a "Wound Vac" after my wound was at a standstill. We'd never heard of one! I've had it on a week and it's nearly gone!!!
Do a search on wound vac for info. The company delivers it to your home and your home health nurse (hopefully you have one who has done them numerous times for effective treatment. She showed hubby how to change the dressing every 48 hrs. After the first 48 my wound was half its size! I need another 48 hours or so & I'm healed. In under 2 weeks after fiddling around with it 3 months with it not improving.
Keeps one out f the hospital too! My wound was de-breeded here at home using debreedment ointment.
For more info call your care provider today! Your Doc faxes an order to KCI (manufacturer and vendor of the WOUND VAC) and they deliver it within 2 days.
