i've been on iv antiobotics for 6 weeks after my sore debreedment.
my bone culture came back positive. i'm in a nursing home so
the nurses hook up my iv 3x a day. i'm having trouble with yeast.
when i lived at home the visiting nurse assn. had their own iv team.
they had no problem coming out to my house.
also you might ask for a pump that only needs to be changed 1x a
day. mabe you can do that outpatient?
don't let any doctor start iv antibiotics untill lab cultures come back with
the proper drug resistance profile.

I had osteomylitis (bone infection) and had vancomycin twice a
day...they did it outpatient.

Hi all,
i just have a question, I have an infection in my elbow and my whole arm
has swelled up. I am on 2 antibiotics and the doc has drained it once
with a needle, which has helped a little. Tomorrow I have an Dr's apt
and he may have to put me on an IV which means being hospitalized for 3
to 4 days. I don't do the hospital well at all, in fact it feels like a
jail sentence. Has anyone else here ever had any strange infections? I
would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Meredith
