Hi Sherry,

I totally agree with you about the rhetoric that people will believe. Amazing to me that a poll conducted by the Program on International Pollicy attitudes shows: <x-tad-bigger>According to a new PIPA/Knowledge Networks poll, a majority of Americans (57%) continue to believe that before the war Iraq was providing substantial support to al Qaeda, including 20% who believe that Iraq was directly involved in the September 11 attacks. Forty-five percent believe that evidence that Iraq was supporting al Qaeda has been found. Sixty percent believe that just before the war Iraq either had weapons of mass destruction (38%) or a major program for developing them (22%).

Despite statements by Richard Clarke, David Kay, Hans Blix and others, few Americans perceive most experts as saying the contrary. Only 15% said they are hearing “experts mostly agree Iraq was not providing substantial support to al Qaeda,” while 82% either said that “experts mostly agree Iraq was providing substantial support” (47%) or “experts are evenly divided on the question” (35%). Only 34% said they thought most experts believe Iraq did not have WMD, while 65% said most experts say Iraq did have them (30%) or that experts are divided on the question (35%).

Not surprisingly, perceptions of what experts are saying are highly correlated with beliefs about prewar Iraq, which in turn are highly correlated with support for the decision to go to war.

Perhaps most relevant politically, perceptions of what the experts are saying are also highly correlated with intentions to vote for the President in the upcoming election. Among those who perceived experts as saying that Iraq had WMD, 72% said they would vote for Bush and 23% said they would vote for Kerry, while among those who perceived experts as saying that Iraq did not have WMD, 23% said they would vote for Bush and 74% for Kerry.</x-tad-bigger>

I hate to believe that so many people get their news from the blatantly biased FOX and even CNN. This administration is on the record for threatening to strip reporters of their press credentials, disallowing access to the whitehouse press meetings, if they tell the truth. And I'm tired of everyone asking me for my proof, find it yourself, read a book or look it up. Maureen Dowd, Richard Clark, David Kay, Wesley Clark , Ron Suskind, Peter Singer, Art Schlesenger, and Frances Fox Piven, are a few good places to begin. It's amazing how many people are making money off telling the TRUTH about this administration.

Anyway, on to my point. Have you noticed that Democrats encourage people to vote and Republicans try to extinguish the vote? Get this, I'm in Ohio and the following excerpt from the New York Times about voter disenfranchisement in Ohio appeared last week: Among other things, he said, the recruits will be taught how to challenge mentally disabled voters who are assisted by anyone other than their legal guardians. In previous elections, he said, bus drivers who had taken group-home residents to polling places often helped them vote.

This is a direct quote from the Republican Co-Chair of Cuyahoga County (Cleveland). How the hell are they going to determine who needs what, and who is the legal guardian and is this even legal under the ADA? I have to say this story made my stomach turn. There are more than a few of us who feel if the votes aren't counted correctly and if Kerry doesn't win, there will be a REVOLUTION, AKA Civil Unrest, Civil War. Bush is a great uniter isn't he?

That's what I'm talking about, REVOLUTION, wanna come ? ;-)

Peace and Justice,
River

No political entity was involved with the making of 9/11. It was is Michael Moores doing.

I hardly think any democrat, nor independent, or republican for that matter would ever "allow" any such thing as attacks on the U.S.  Did Bush "allow" the attack of 9/11?
The key is going to war for the right reasons, as well as using our tax dollars effectively.
We are in Iraq, now for the wrong reasons, while N.Korea indeed has nuclear weapons.
Pres. Bush hasn't, nor will he 'protect' us.  No moreso than any sitting President would.

As for using Reeve ..Have you looked at any fact finding site ?
Not one that has bias slant, but pure basic fact finding?

The Republican 'inaccuracies as vote garnering is to me nauseating.
But far too many people see or listen to rhetoric, and do not bother to check facts or learn the true workings of our government.

I'm a republican, and woefully ashamed because of this administration.

The cost of lives will increase? Cost of living (finances?)  Bush has sent us into a greater deficit than ever before...and I'm old enough to remember and know the horrors that brought in years past.
Bush did that, and at the same time wanting 3 trillion additional dollars to go to Mars.

You said you had already cast your ballot...
So this is moot.
