I taped it and am willing to mail a dub to those who missed it or miss the next running.     I found the story to be very good.   Sure brought me back to the tough days.   I had forgotten for example the glee that was felt when my son finally spoke after being unable to do so for a month.   I was a terrible lip reader.  I always look people in the eyes especially my children.  I found it difficult to focus on his mouth.  I could read so much in those eyes.  The only area I found really unparallel to our experience was the absence of faith in the movie.  Without faith I don’t think I could have made it from one day to the next when my fear was so great and there were so many new things to learn and questions unanswered.   I suspect that was due to Christopher Reeve’s feelings about God.  It was interesting that when giving the speech to her graduating class she closed with God Bless.  I felt they compromised on that and he allowed that insert.      Karen, mother of Dylan C5/6/7 complete injured 1/20/02   -----Original Message----- From: Jeremy Dickinson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 8:34 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [QUAD-L] Brook Ellison story   Listen up yall. I was EXTREMELY touched by the movie, and was impressed how a vent quad was depicted. Even though I'm C 5,6 I got a better perspective of how much more challenging it is with a higher level SCI.   It also flooded me with memories of my family, how each adjusted in their own way and time. And when they showed the seen when she first entered the rehab, WOW did THAT bring back emotions of 31 years ago.   Yes, it did make the mom look as though she did EVERYTHING herself for ALL those years, which WE all know is quite impossible.
