Thank you for the difference of opinion and no, you are not the only one not receiving the Q-List. I haven't received it in at least a week.

I'm a little leary of the story as it's told... very superficially explained, low on details.

I've been with groups from a university (actually, 2 different universities) where everyone is goofing around, the everyone is close enough in age you don't know who's who and you're surprised to find that a couple are "teachers/professors", and you don't know 3/4th or more of the people you're with. In these situations, everyone treats everyone else like a "friend."
Would a "friend" kick a "friend?" You betcha... in goofing around, a kick can be a light "quitting bugging me," "Oh, stop being goofy," or any other meaningless gesture.
A kick could also be a hard... "Get that thing out of my face!" ... "Ok.. for the last time...," etc.
This story doesn't give enough detail for me to pass any kind of judgement either way. I've (lightly) "kicked" students in my own classroom always in the pretext of jokingly gretting their attention. But to an uninformed new kid it might appear very different if he/she didn't have all the facts.
...And we don't have many facts at all here... except for the facts about certain political undertones this story tries to bring to the surface.
If this student does bring charges, then maybe the record will show the context under which this situation took place. Then we can make an informed opinion.
Best!
