Insurers advise clients to eat chocolate                        A German insurance firm has written to clients urging them to eat more chocolate if they want to cut the risk of heart attacks.                                                                                                    Many scientists now accept the antioxidants found in cocoa have been shown to decrease the risk of coronary artery disease.                                                                                                          But this is the first time an insurance firm has taken the initiative to write to tell clients about the findings.              The German DAK health insurance company says plain chocolate, in moderation, is good for the heart, and quotes research conducted in Greece to back up their claims. Cocoa and chocolate products are rich in flavanols - a class of natural compounds found in a variety of foods including tea and red wine. According to a review in The British Journal of Cardiology, experiments have shown that flavanols have a beneficial influence on vascular health. Cardiovascular diseases remain the number one killer in developed countries. The prime cause is atherosclerosis which leads to furring-up and blockages of the arteries. The company says that the evidence is now strong enough that they decided to urge clients to eat more chocolate. But it did warn against excess, adding that a bar a day should be enough, and that eating too much chocolate can lead to obesity and an increased risk of heart disease.

Amazing Facts

One termite queen may have 10 million children!
On a single tree 20 million plant lice may be found.
About as many insects live in a square mile of the earth's surface as people in the world.
A female housefly becomes an adult in two weeks. Usually she lays two batches of 125 eggs each. Ten generations can develop in a summer. If all eggs hatched and multiplied at the usual rate and none were destroyed, by the end of the summer 15 quintillion (15,000,000,000,000,000,000) flies
would cover the earth four and a half feet deep.

#1                                                                                                                   Rev. Jones shocked the congregation when he announced his resignation from the church and planned move to Arizona... After the service a very distraught Mrs.  Williams came to the pastor with tears in her eyes, "Oh, Pastor Bill, we are going to miss you so much.  We don't want you to leave!" The kindhearted pastor patted her hand and said, "Now, now, Liz, don't carry on so...  The pastor who takes my place might be even better than me.""Yeah", she cried, "That's what Paster Mike said when he left!"

 #2

Our nephew was getting married to a doctor's daughter. At the wedding reception, the father of the bride stood to read his toast, which he had scribbled on a piece of scrap paper. Several times during his speech, he halted, overcome with what I assumed was a moment of deep emotion. But after a particularly long pause, he explained, "I'm sorry. I can't seem to make out what I've written down." Looking out into the audience, he asked, "Is there a pharmacist in the house?"

#3

Our kindergarten class went to the fire station for a tour and some instruction in fire safety. The fireman was explaining what to do in case of a fire. He said, "First, go to the door and feel the door to see if it's hot." Then he said, "Fall to your knees. Does anyone know why you ought to fall to your knees?"
One of the little tykes said, "Sure, to start praying to ask God to get us out of this mess!"

#4

It was a dark, stormy, night. The Marine was on his first assignment, and it was guard duty.
A General stepped out taking his dog for a walk. The nervous young Private snapped to attention, made a perfect salute, and snapped out "Sir, Good Evening, Sir!"
The General, out for some relaxation, returned the salute and said "Good evening soldier, nice night, isn't it?"
Well it wasn't a nice night, but the Private wasn't going to disagree with the General, so the he saluted again and replied "Sir, Yes Sir!".
The General continued, "You know there's something about a stormy night that I find soothing, it's really relaxing. Don't you agree?"
The Private didn't agree, but them the private was just a private, and responded "Sir, Yes Sir!"
The General, pointing at the dog, "This is a Golden Retriever, the best type of dog to train."
The Private glanced at the dog, saluted yet again and said "Sir, Yes Sir!"
The General continued "I got this dog for my wife."
The Private simply said "Good trade Sir!"

                 ~TRAILS OF SUCCESS ~

THE RIGHT DECISION
The airline pilot announced over the intercom, "Folks, I've got good news and bad news for you. The bad news is...we're lost. The good news is...we're making great time!"
It's too easy to live our lives like that, isn't it? Always a bit too
busy. In a hurry to accomplish the day's tasks. Rushing around...but not clear exactly where we want to ultimately end up.
It's been provocatively said, "Millions long for immortality who do  not know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon." The problem is...they know they would like to accomplish something important with their lives or they would like to make a certain income or they would like to be happy. But when it comes to making the journey toward those destinations, they feel stuck. In short, they are
lost. Author and speaker Danny Cox, in his book SEIZE THE DAY (Career Press, 1994), tells of a man who made a great success of his life in spite of tremendous hardships. The moment that ultimately turned this man's life around was when he sat down and asked himself four important questions:
1)     What do I really want? He didn't want to just sleepwalk through life, nor look back someday and feel regret.
2)     What will it cost? In time, money and commitment.
3)     Am I willing to pay the price?
4)     When is the best time to start paying the price?
Answer these four questions and you will be clear on the direction you want to take your life. Commit to these answers and you'll make great time.- Steve Goodier
