someone had questions about nerve blocks yesterday but i didn't have time to reply, thought i saved it, but..... i went through a series of those. i wouldn't say it hurt, just the anesthetic, just a shot...a few seconds, and it wasn't that bad. my doctor didn't inject directly in to the spinal cord. he said it could cause autonomic dysrefexia in quads, i had my injections at the t4 level on the right side of my back. i got very little relief from the 1st one and on the 2nd i woke up with hives. they sent me to an allergist, she did skin testing and nothing tested positive so i went for my 3rd and last. i itched for 2 weeks. maybe if i wasn't so miserable from that, something positive would have happened. i'm not trying to discourage you in any way. some do get relief from pain, it's defiantly worth a try. i just had a strange reaction & know that's just another procedure/drug to add to 'the didn't work' shelf.
you didn't say what level you were. a friend of mine, an ab, had it done but they injected her spinal cord. even though i couldn't go back for the left side, i wonder how many quads get direct spinal cord injections and if so, any better response?
good luck,
diane
