Lori-
Here's some interesting news that is not going to be offered up by Dr.s because there are no follow-ups or prescriptions for medicine involved. It is something told to me by my HHA who has been doing this job since the 1960's and had very practical and effective advise. For litigious reasons I have to write that professionals should be contacted (by phone or whatever) to search out valid contrary opinions.
This method should only be done to closed sores
This is surprisingly simple:
Have a basin of hot water (as hot as possible without scalding you)
With a hot, wrung out, slightly wet fresh face cloth-warm and open the pores of the area and it also helps increase blood circulation too.
If the skin is very thin -just hold the cloth there. If you can massage the area without tearing your skin, do so
As the cloth starts to cool, redip the cloth, wring it out and reapply
After 3-4 times, put Epson salt (plain 'ol Epson salt) on a hot, slightly wet face cloth and make a poultice (loose sandpaper).
Either place or massage area (remember, it's like sandpaper)
redip cloth and slightly wring out and reapply more Epson salt
leave skin with salt alone for 2-3 minutes
With a wet, wrung out , slightly wet fresh cloth-wipe away salt
pat dry
bath as usual
if you have sensation on your butt, you will know if it's working
I had 2 or 3 sores start in the past 4 years that never get beyond the red skin stage
when that itch starts do this to cut the sore off at the knees :)
good luck-Cameron

I resorted to books on tape.  Still, even that gets old day after day.  We have that Bluetooth technology too but it's not easy to learn.  Have it but not using it.

On this list and the SCIC list ... this has been a year for sores!  Geeez.  Mine is closed but the area around it now stays red, rashy or seepy.  Different every day.  No idea what is causing it all.  But it's either horomonal, fungal or my exzema.  Thought when the wound closed I'd be scot-free.  Nope.

I need a dermatologist who'll do a home visit.  uh-huh.

Hello everyone,

I am laying in bed bored to tears trying to heal the pressure sores on my backside.  I have borrowed my wife's laptop and through a Remote Desktop Control I am operating my regular computer which is in the next room.  It is very slow operating as my head mouse doesn't work on the laptop, (I can get one that will work on here, but I haven't got one yet).  So I have to operate everything my voice or "mouse grid" which is very slow and aggravating.

However, I have ordered a new laptop with a head mouse, and Bluetooth technology.  Hopefully I will have this set up within the next 10 days.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Gale :-) :-( :-)
