I've been on oxybut--otherwise known as Ditropan, since I was in rehab. I take a small amount--
1 5mg, once a day. Used to take it twice a day, but was able to get down to one a day. I have no idea if it even helps anymore. Its a bladder relaxer. take care,

Dan,

I have had similar experiences with urologists, but I found when I started taking a very small quantity of Oxybutynin that this relieve the majority of my pain. You may want to talk to your urologists about this. Additionally, you may want to, if you already haven't, check into getting a sonogram. The only other time I have had bladder pain which lasted for a long time I had bladder stones. Good luck with your problem and if this urologists doesn't give you any better answers than "you will have to learn to live with it," then I would agree you definitely need a second opinion. Just my two cents.

He told me oh well---- your always going to have bacteria present with a supra pubic or any indwelling catheters. I can understand that to an extent, but in my 7 years post injury this is the third time I have suffered this much for long periods of time.......Have any of you gone to a 2nd urologist for a 2nd opinion???
