Magnet Controls are nothing new. Its one of the oldest forms of adaptive
equipment on a van (in the tail lights). The other is toggle switches with key
lock in the box.
Today, most companies are using electronics and remote controllers. It adds
the element of security with functionality. Remotes can work better in
adverse weather conditions when one has bad muscle spams in extreme weather.

days
use. it used to disable the taillight access when the door was locked - now
the taillight switch is always active - one needs only a magnet to run the
switches and operate the ramp. one less gizmo to cause problems.
