Love is always a choice. Sometimes, of course, we may "fall in love," but it takes work to stay there. Sometimes, we may be swept off our feet," but the "sweeping" is only temporary; sooner or later, if love is to endure, we must plant our feet firmly on the ground. The decision to love another person for a lifetime is much more than the simple process of"falling in" or being swept up."It requires "reaching out," "holding firm," and "lifting up." Love, then, becomes a decision to honor and care for the other person, come what may.
Love requires times. Period. If you sincerely wish to build your relationship and keep building it, you should invest large quantities of your time and energy in the care and nurturing of your loved one. And as you spend time together, you should do your very best to ensure the God remains squarely at the center of your family's life. When you do, God will bless you and your family in ways that you could have scarcely imagined.
