That is correct. For each 1" of rise, you need 12" of extension. But you must also consider the width of that ramp, as well as the turns and the stops in case of a run away manual chair. Do you know the actual height at this point? Remember that these standards were designed for someone, anyone in a chair, be it manual or electric. I'm waiting for additional info on strength requirements for runaway electric chairs with people in those chairs. The lift industry has changed their standards on platform lifts, which include new guidelines for side curbs and stops at both the front and back of the lift to stop runaway electric chairs. W
