Hi Greg,

I'm the same way you are.  I'd much rather be trying to stay cool then to be trying to stay warm.  You see a lot more bikinis coming into the A/Cd house from the heat than from the cold.  I'm from AZ and know that drier heat is easier to cool down with A/C than the humid air.  I live in North Texas so we do get winters, but they aren't too bad here just at the Eastern side of the Western Stake Plains.  They are called 'Stake Plains' because when you got that far west, you needed to have had cut some wooden stakes in East Texas so you could pound them in the ground and have a way to tie-up your horses at night.  Now that wasn't a bad way to live.  :-)

I find it easier to cool off than to warm up. Once I get cold, my body hurts until the next day. I use to spend my day in a turtleneck shirt, sweater, scarf, sitting by a fire, with the house heat set at 78. And still be cold. I think humidity and drafts have a lot to do with it. Now that I moved to AZ, my heat is set at 75, no fire going.
When it below 73 or so, outside, I still wear turtlenecks and sweaters on the days I only stay inside. but for the first time in 22 years I now can wear short sleeve shirts.
But 70 and sunny here is much warmer than 80 and hazy outside in Seattle.
I still am sore, but not near as bad as while in Seattle. I think the dry heat just feels better. Being too cold I feel tight, shiver, hurt, that will last all day. Once I get to hot I feel like there is not enough air in the room. But once I get in a cool room, get my shirt off, I can ! feel good pretty soon.

The first day here when looking at houses, my van stopped running, while out miles from anything. We called AAA, but it would take an hour to get there and no one could find a wheelchair taxi. It was 107 outside. Then In felt bad. Luckily a cop drove by. He almost panicked and wanted to call an aide car. Luckily the van started again and I got home. The next day it did it again. This time it was next to houses. We knocked on a door and a nice family let us stay there until we got AAA there and this time found a wheelchair taxi. Jiffy-Lube put a new belt on wrong and the 2nd time it totally ripped off so the van wouldn't run at all. So I worry about the bad heat while out, b ut do bring water.
