I had a quickie2 manual chair and hated everything about it. I have
an A-4 rigid chair now and love it. I'll never go back to folding
again. I shouldn't have gotten this chair when I did since I haven't even
had a disability for 5 years. I had them out here doing something to that
chair so much trying to get a comfortable fit that they told the company to give
me another one. I know a lot of people that like quickies I guess they
just aren't for me.
What did you do before you were disabled?

power chair was covered. I chose for them to purchase it since it was
somewhere around $5000 I paid $1500 for my quickie 2 manual I think. It was
over 5 yrs ago now. Which I�m up 4 a new power chair next yr I�m looking 2 try
2 buy another manual chair this yr also. I like the quickie r2 I�m thinking

Now I need degrees just to be employable since my dis-ability is
actually a handicap in this situation.

No I only have medicaid I�ll have to
purchase it for myself as I did before. $900.00 is a lot more than
the $5 & change I get every month. I�m really barely making it
I�m broke after bills. And now that the weathers not good I�m not

The first
couple of days I was at school, I had to go back and forth a lot
and there are a lot of ramps at the school. If not a ramp,
it's uphill a little bit between the buildings. I got lazy
while it's been cold so it was very tiring. I also haven't
experience up and down like that. I can go forever on a flat
surface, but when I am at home and it's warm, I do go in and out
of the house more but it's not consistent like while I am at
school. Especially when I am in between classes like that.
I went to community college before and it was only a couple
of buildings right next to each other. Hopefully all the
pushing will start to show on my physical appearance soon. LOL!

I want to kick it up for when I need it later. 9
hundred something dollars doesn't do it for me. I'd
like to put some money into it.

I need 2 get me
another manual chair. But its pretty near impossible 4 me 2
catch the bus in a manual chair I just don�t have the
strength 2 push up the ramps. I�m in school 2 get an
associates in computer graphics the average starting
salary is 30k � 45k so hopefully I can get 15 or more yrs of
work in b4 I need 2 get back on disability.

arms though pushing through the campus. I have 15 mins
inbetween classes a couple of days and the classes are
kinda far apart. I push my ass off the first half
then start to run out of gas. A couple of more
weeks, it'll be nothing then I'll be getting all buff. LOL.

assistance, etc. The benefits are for the
people that are at their lowest. I only hope
that when I do start working that I am able to

degree is to get out in the work force and get

benefits and work...never know when something will
knock u out of job for a while. Plus, it's a
loooong day on me to work 8am to 4;30pm....i don't
feel guilt for stayin on system, it's what we have
paid into....that's why this system was set up, and i
think most AB hope they can be taken care of if
they end up quad. Thing is, it's not a lot to live
on...i make 12K a year on SS, but anoher 12K through
work. If my job was to relocate, overseas,
i'd be without a job...not sure what i'd
do!!
