I've known people who had the colon's by-passed using a temp colostomy for 
6-8 months and then had it reversed once the problem was resolved.  I'm not 
sure 
of any complications with this procedure on someone with mobility 
impairments, or spinal cord injuries.  I believe that you should have some 
trust with 
your doctor on what the odds are for their procedure.
