I also try to find a heat source if possible and stay away from a/c drafts too. That incident was the last one I had--I think--and was back in the 90's. I do try to dress appropriately, but sometimes at my moms she will cover me with a blanket as they keep their house a lot cooler than mine is. 80 degrees is good for me. My themomenter broke and have not replaced it, but I have found being cooler at night makes for better sleeping.
Its nice to know someone else has the same muscle shut down! I do the usual "hibernating" thing in the winter. take care,

I got one of those ponchos you are talking about for a birthday gift or
Christmas gift, I cannot remember but I do know it came from Wal-Mart. I have not
used it yet but it is big enough to cover me and my chair.
You have the exact same symptoms that I have if I get to cold when I drive.
I try to avoid being out in the cold too long plus, I stay out of the drafty
areas and will try to sit by a heat source if possible along with dressing
properly.
