I know that not every disabled person collects disability but only social security.  Anyone know why that is?
I personally have no idea.  I know it all works differently in the UK, but here, I get DLA (Disability Living Allowance) and I get Incapacity Benefit as I'm not able to both study and earn a living at the moment because of other health issues I have.  Getting benefits and allowances here is really hard, I was paralysed for a 7 months before I started receiving DLA.  In that time I went to appeal with the DLA people, and filled in 2 sets of forms.  In the end they decided to send yet another one of their doctors down to see me, which was when they finally believed that I really was disabled!!!

It's the UK, it says it all really!
