~TRAILS of LIVING~

HOW BIG IS YOUR FRYING PAN?
Are you setting your sights too low?
I heard of a woman who fished all morning and never caught anything.
But a man in the next boat was reeling in a fish every time she
glanced over. Then, to make matters worse, he kept the small ones and threw the large ones back into the water!
She couldn't stand it any longer. She called over to him, "How come
you're throwing the big ones back?"
He answered by holding up a little frying pan.
We may think that is silly but, in our minds, don't we all hold up
frying pans? Every time we throw away a big idea, a magnificent dream or an exciting possibility, are we measuring it against a small frying pan? We talk about making more money or becoming more successful, but I believe that this concept works in other, and sometimes more important areas, as well. We can love more than we ever dreamed possible! We can be happier and live more fully than we ever thought
we could! What we can do or become is limited more by the size of the
frying pan in our minds than by actual circumstances.
Author Brian Tracy reminds us that "you are not what you think you
are, but what you think, you are." Think big. Dream big. Pray big...
and look for big results. It all begins with changing the size of your
thinking.
What would happen if you threw away the frying pan you have been using to measure the size of your dreams, and replaced it with a larger one?
What would happen if you decided that it may really be possible to
have a better relationship with the one you love, or that you actually
can be happier and more fulfilled than you are now? What would
happen if you decided never to settle for anything less than what you
truly want? What if, from now on, you threw the little fish back and
kept the big ones?
And what if you decided to begin today?

"Love Adds The Chocolateâ                                                            A house is a house is a house--until love comes through the door,
that is. And love intuitively goes around sprinkling that special
brand  of angel dust that transforms a house into a very special home for very special people: your family.
Money, of course, can build a charming house, but only love can
furnish it with a feeling of home.
Duty can pack an adequate sack lunch, but love may decide to tuck
a little love note inside.
Money can provide a television set, but love controls it and
cares enough to say no and take the guff that comes with it.
Obligation sends the children to bed on time, but love tucks the
covers in around their necks and passes out kisses and hugs (even to
teenagers!).
Obligation can cook a meal, but love embellishes the table with a
potted ivy trailing around slender candles.
Duty writes many letters, but love tucks a joke or a picture or a
fresh stick of gum inside.
Compulsion keeps a sparkling house. But love and prayer stand a
better chance of producing a happy family.
Duty gets offended quickly if it isn't appreciated. But love
learns to laugh a lot and to work for the sheer joy of doing it.
Obligation can pour a glass of milk, but quite often love will
add  a little chocolate.   --James S. Hewett

2000 ---------- Light traveling 300 times faster than speed of light measured

Interesting list of events in human history spanning about 5,000 years!
As time marches on man achieves more and more. And the more man achieves the more âpuffed upâ he becomes and appears the less he trusts in what God has to say.
An article form the Denver Post, 5/30/00, p. 2A, "Raising the speed of light," states: âThen an American researcher decided to see what would happen to the speed of light in a special chamber. He built a clear chamber filled with cesium gas. When a pulse of light was sent through it, the light went through the chamber at 300 times the speed of light. This is so fast that the main pulse of light exited the chamber before it went in!â
It is clear to me that as man continues on his journey through life the creation story is relevant and current. An all powerful and knowledgeable creator would have no problem making such a pulse of light while we âpuffed upâ humans take 5,000 years to find it! And then when we find it we toot our horn and say, âLOOK WHAT WE FOUND?â

                               ~TRAILS  of PRAYER~

Dear Lord, "I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men; I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God!" ... Oh Lord, we each need to be humbled at times, for it is easy, especially for those in positions of power, to have an excessive estimate of their own self-worth. ... Forgive me, Lord, in my own circumstance, if I get carried away and develop an exaggerated opinion of my authority. Help me, Lord, to keep a proper understanding of WHO YOU ARE, and who I am. ... Remind all who are in positions of leadership, whether in government, business, teaching or parenting, that we each have a duty to lead responsibly, and to set a good example for others to follow. ... Oh Lord, help me in reading this prayer to acknowledge Your sovereignty, Your superior knowledge, Your love and concern for me, and my need to seek Your guidance each day. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
