i had the proceedure a year ago on my left wrist & tricep at santa clara valley medical in california. it was a difficult decision but worth it. i did already have some wrist extension prior to surgery. i was told it was reversible. i now can pick up all kinds of things. the tricep isn't overly impressive though i don't hit myself in the head any more bringing my arm down. there's a lot of p.t involved afterwards & it was painful. there were times i'd thought i'd made a mistake. but it was well worth it for me. unfortunately, my other arms not a candiate. if you have any other questions, let me know. i wish you the best.

The big thing about this procedure is If it is successful. A year ago I went to the Mayo Clinic to be evaluated for tendon transfers. I qualify for one arm but not the next and they made a very clear to me that IF the procedure does not work it is a reversible and I will lose the movement that I have now. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go ahead with the procedure because if I lose what I have now I'm going to be screwed. I know that if the procedure works it will make my life better but the question is is the risk worth losing what I have?
