My last service dog was a big black male dobe and it was such a relief to have a "working" breed again! He was a stray, but knew what to do before I taught it--almost. And yes, he kept me on my toes!! I got him when he was about 1 year old so was introduced to service work fairly early. This red one is almost 3 and was a stray too, but has been living the life of a pampered pet with 4 other dogs. He has had little to none formal training, but hopefully he will learn quickly, he seemed very attentive.
They are indeed a special breed!

How rare and fortunate you are. Now go to the library and borrow a very
thick book
on dobe's. They are so special and will lay at your feet until you sleep.
Very dedicated to serving you, while constantly testing your wit.
