As I sit here today pondering on some of the events in history, I kinda wish I could have been a fly on the wall of P. Pilot's Home after he was advised that Christ was missing from his grave site, (allegedly). After all, he washed his hands clean of the situation thinking that he would be gone in a couple of days and his memory would soon pass like the many others who were guilty at the time and were killed. But I wasn't there, so I can only surmise.
But consider the events of the last 15 years and 2 weeks, with TerriS. A husband and doctor(s) who just knew that if you yank a feeding tube long enough a very sick person who's brain acts like a plant would soon pass and life, as we know it, would go on. All the experts told the judge, yank the tube and your troubles will be gone. Don't forget to wash your hands, so you won't feel guilty. After all, how long can a broad without food last, your honor? A day ?? A week?? She's in no pain, your Honor! So the Judge(s) washes their hands and order the plug to be pulled. Little did they realize that they were dealing with a TerriS, who wasn't going to give up so easy. Your honor, after 7 days. She's getting weak and won't last much longer. Maybe a couple more days max, you honor. Are you sure she's not in any pain, the judge(s) ask? No, your honor. We've given her enough morphine to keep a horse in twilight for a year. Well.... ok. 14 days have gone by and she continues to live, breath and survive. Against all of the odds, her life continues. Again, I'd love to be the fly on the wall of the Judges who ordered that her feeding tube be yank'ed. Yous guys (doctors) said she'd be death by now! Can you imagine how dumb the judicial system looks?? The President's calling me twice a day asking me for updates on this veggie that you guys said would be dead. The public is not taking too kindly to this hold thing. Our wives have been ignoring us since we made this decision to yank the tube, and her living is not good. Can you pump her with an OD to speed this up?? We'll get back to you(s). And life continues. Who will be the next ADA martyr? W
