I 2 wanted 2 die. Did the same thing quit eating & drinking. Got a pressure sore refused treatments 4 a while. My family went 2 court 2 get a feeding tube put in me. I went 2 nursing home after getting kicked out of rehab hospital. That ended up being the best thing 4 me. I got there cursed at the sorry staff said I just wanted 2 die. They really tried 2 assist me. After I watched my roommate die from impaction throwing up bowel and several others die I decided I wanted to live. After fighting with administration learning about resident rights I decided 2 advocate 4 the other residents that couldn’t advocate 4 themselves. After numerous calls to the state board of health I found myself getting help from the nursing home in finding my own place. There are bouts of depression from time 2 time but overall I’m happy 2 be alive now I appreciate life more now as a quad than B4. I understand and appreciate the small things in life. Looking at the world from a sitting position I’m able to observe things I’d never noticed from a standing position. I’m sure that years ago things weren’t really that nice being a quad. Life expectancy wasn’t long 4 us either. A lot of you all proved your Dr.s wrong and invented the devices that’s made life tolerable 4 me & others. I’ve been shot a total of 7 times over 3 occasions I know that God wasn’t ready 4 me. So I’m a firm beleiver of “If it doesn’t kill u it only makes U stronger!”

I had a real good buddy who became a quad because he dived into a river in an area that was to shallow......he told us all , hey we are all going to die anyway and there is no way that I will live in this condition, He said i choose to give up... no way i'll live this quality of life. So he quit trying to eat or drink, gave up intrest in anything and died less than a few months later........SO NOT ALL WANT TO LIVE WITH A DIMINISHED QUALITY OF LIFE>>>>>I KNOW CAUSE THIS WAS MY FRIEND.
