I browsed through your site and it was nice learning about you.  I'm Stacy.  I'm 30 and contracted a rare type of encephalitis that inflamed my brain and spine leaving me paraplegic.  Can you please help me understand what a paetial quad is?  What are your function limitations.  I have heard the term a few times, but never understood it.  Welcome to the list.  There is a lot of help and support here.

Subject: [QUAD-L] new member and question

Hi.. My name is Cevi.  I am a partial quad.. I am able to walk.  I have syringomyelia and Tethered cord syndrome.  I have some questions about TCS and am looking for my answers. I already know so much about it... but I have not been able to find out what could happen to me if I DO NOT get my TCS surgically fixed... like is there a possiblity of my spinal cord snapping if I fall or anything...  I know what can happen if I DO get the surgery... I just need to find out what could happen if I dont.  My insurance has denied my request to go to a spinal cord hospital and I'm trying to put my argument together for my appeal letter and I want them to understand what problems I could face if I dont get this taken care of.  I hope I will be able to find these answers here.  I am in so many spinal cord injury groups and have not had any help with this question..
You can also check out my website that my mom made for me and for other people to learn from.   Horsewmn.faithweb.com
Thank you

Take Care and God Bless
