Well I found out today the bug is not e-colli, but
staph. So that's why the mannose wasn't helping. It sounds like I
wasn't taking enough of it anyway. I read the powder is more effective
than the capsules for treating the UTI and the capsules are more for
maintenance. But the health food store only had the capsules. So now
I'm on an antibiotic to treat the infection. Thanks for the info
anyway, Corie

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Your
supposed to take half a teaspoon every 2-3hours (i suggest 2) until symptoms
subside. I forget the rest exactly but it's basically tapering down for
the next 4 days (I think). I take half teaspoon 4 times per day.
If it is e.coli, you might want to start the maintenance dose the day before
antibiotics are through.

Eric,
The health food store only had
capsules, so I'm taking the maximum dosage it recommends, nine a day, 3, 3
times a day. I'm running out quick though, so will purchase the powder
over the Internet, which I found out is cheaper anyway. What is the
recommended dosage to get rid of these symptoms (or the
bug)?

How much mannose are you taking?

I thought I've read past posts from a
couple of people who have tried this for their UTI's? I've been
using it for five days and so far it hasn't helped. I was
wondering for those who have tried it, how long it took to help if it
did? I have been having sediment in my leg bag and pain for a week
and have been dealing with the same symptoms on and off for at least six
months. I've had all the tests and everything with my bladder and
kidneys look good, no stones. The last couple of times I've been
on an antibiotic, I still have the pain and it didn't clear up the
urine. My doctor (urologist) does not want to keep giving me
antibiotics because he says I will always have bacteria in my bladder
from the suprapubic. So I read about the D-Mannose on the
care/cure forum and bought some at the health food store. So
anyone who has tried this natural antibiotic, can you give me your
input? I'm very frustrated!
