If is available in your area, for that price (or a little less) you 
could be getting Yahoo DSL (through SBC) which would more than double 
your speed AND free up your phone line. DSL works through your phone 
line but works in the background, eliminating lost calls or the need 
for a seperate line.
They now have little boxes (or software) for regular dial up users 
which alert you to incoming calls. It allows you to take the call or 
ignore it (some have caller ID).

BTW you can get a Yahoo mail account regardless of who you use as a 
provider.
