Hi Aaron,
In '76 I had tongs put in and was in traction 3 1/2 months at Barrow Neurological Institute, of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, in Phoenix. I did 3 months of rehab at Banner Good Samaritan Rehabilitation Institute in Phoenix. They worked us hard there but I've never regretted a minute of it once I was out in the ''real world.'' We played just as hard at night so it balanced out! Met some good people there too. I hope this helps.
With Love,

My experience at Dallas Rehabilitation Institute (DRI) was very militaristic in their approach to rehab. Looking back at my 6 month stay from September of '88 to March of '89 I'm really pleased with how they handled everything. We were forced to go to OT and PT and did not have the option to 'opt out' like I've seen at other facilities. Their activities director was very good about getting us out to experience the world a bit more. (even though I felt I was on show that early in the game) Overall, good as it could be experience.DRI no longer exists today, it was replaced by HEALTHSOUTH who in turn has turned all rehab over to Baylor, I think.Curious to hear/read others experiences...Aaron Mann
