The agencies that have provided aides the past several years for shopping,
cleaning and laundry hear from me if something happens! I am not afraid to
call and when in hospitals or 'step-down' units, the head nurse or DON get
to know me real fast if there is any incompetance on the ai8des or nurses
part. I had to tell, a what turned out to be a newly graduated RN, how to
do a sterile dressing change one time. She was not my nurse anymore! If I
get incompetense or lousy attitude, the boss hears about it!
Gotta go, one of 'the good ones' is here!

This is appalling to hear. I could understand an attendant not knowing
better, but a CNA!
My recommendation is to house your own supplies. Keep them in a place
where you can keep track of them. If you are relying on Visiting
nurses, then immediately report any foul business. This is YOUR life in
their hands. Don't feel bad for making people experience the
consequences for doing wrong. If you don't, they may seriously injure
you or the next person down the road.
You must do what is necessary to take care of yourself, no one else
will. It is my job to understand my body and how to take care of it.

Amen Warrior,
I have hand sanitizer next on a shelf beside a glove dispenser. You
gotta ask them to use it then put on the gloves, even if they say they
washed there hands.

I wanted to worn all people that have in home care to be aware
of how clean you CNA's gloves are. I have been fighting a UTI for two
months. I found out from one of my CNA's that the nurse who take care of
the supplies. Do not wash her hands and just pulls out the gloves from
box's and put them in a paper bags. I received a real bad inflation that
is killing my white blood cells. Thank God I know my body and went to my
inflation doctor. When he seen the report of my blood and uron test he
went thought the roof. I had a pick line put in and have to go to the
hosputal everyday to get my IV treatment. Now I have to buy my own
gloves and tell my CNA to wash her hands and put on my gloves.
