Hi Dave,

No, you would not SEE a bill SPECIFICALLY AND SEPARATELY for aides (under Medicare) paying agencies NOW (since 1999) because agencies are paid ONE LUMP SUM per month for services per individual.  The agencies can distribute that sum anyway they like during any said month.

Sure, I'll look that up for you.  Been awhile since I've had my handbook out & handy but I'll try and find IT AND
the page numbers.  I remember seeing it specifically when we lived in Virginia (state doesn't matter).  I hope
I still kept it.  If not, I'll request a copy again (although they are slow in delivery).

Hi Lori,

I've had a "what if" plan since I was 13, and while it has changed over the years, it is still in place.  When I was living here alone and had a need for Aides, I used them.  I don't use them now, by choice, but I do see the Bill the HHS sends to MEDICARE and they are NOT billing MEDICARE for CNAs.  Could you please give me the page number of the MEDICARE & YOU 2005 that talks about the 35 hrs for a CNA?

Thanks, Dave.  I was just curious.

I noticed on your agency's "List of home care services"  http://www.rchh.com/wf_frontpage.htm
that home health AIDES is/are not listed.  Aides are crucial to my every day living yet, since
1999, it's been a struggle (no, a fight ... and a losing one) for MediCARE patients.

Right now I have an investigation going on after us finally writing a candid letter
of complaints about my agency Life Care at Home.

I'm posting this to the list for anyone with similar issues.

Sooooooooo, do they provide you with ANY aides???

I ask because IN THE *MEDICARE & YOU* handbook ... if one receives
a skilled nursing need, etc ... they are eligible for 35 hrs a week of CNAs!
They get paid regardless so they SHOULD!

If you DON'T get aides ... do you just "accept" that because of relying
on family or do you speak up?  If you had no family tomorrow or next week..
would Wichita HHS help you with aides?  Do you have a "what if" plan?
