Hi Lori,

What I had found at the time I posted on the Q-List, but here is the wording about the hours that I've found.

Medicare covers your home health services for as long as you are eligible and your doctor says you need these services. However, the skilled nursing care and home health aide services are only covered on a part-time or intermittent basis. This means there are limits on the number of hours per day and days per week that you can get skilled nursing or home health aide services. pg 11

Once you are getting home health care, Medicare defines part-time or intermittent as skilled nursing or home health aide services combined to total less than 8 hours per day and 28 or fewer hours each week. Based on your need for care, on a case-by-case basis, the weekly total may be increased to up to 35 hours. This definition helps Medicare make decisions about your coverage. pg 12 http://www.medicare.gov/Publications/Pubs/pdf/10969.pdf

I looks like if your doctor has certified you for skilled care the aide's hours will depend on keeping the skill care going.

 Hi Dave,

It took me awhile to locate all that Medicare info in print.  You didn't respond to it directly so did you look
at the page that indeed said 35 hours?  And other pertinent info in the Medicare & Home Healthcare handbook?

I know you're not using what you're eligible for right now ... but it is written down like you inquired :-)

Lori  :-)
