It shocked me as well.  I was in an annex of John's Hopkins.  Of all places, I thought they would be equipped.  When I was a patient at the main hospital, they had a few to try and work with.  The crazy thing is they do a lot of these surgeries there therefore I am sure they see a lot of people with paralysis.  At least that is what the nurses have told me.  I asked what they do and they said they just go on the bed on the blue pads.  It amazes me I seem to be the first to raise hell about it.

I'm sorry to hear about all the troubles you are having with your hospitals in your area.  I am just flabbergasted at how poor and uninformed our health-care system is with people with disabilities.  I feel very fortunate that I live where I do because so far I have not had any problems with the hospitals or rehabilitation center that I deal with.  Good luck and keep your head up.
