Well it happened to us today. Caregiver no show. she had not got there by 9:30 am, I was tired wanted to go to bed. Had already gave John his morning food and meds. the caregivers are supposed to be there by 9am. My husband was getting ready to go on a job. so I called a different one...no answer. I called the one that was supposed to be there..her son answered and got her to the phone. She said" thought I wasn't supposed to come in til 4pm. How long do I have to work? I said all day til 9pm...she said "Oh sh*t". I said I'd try to get someone else to come til she could get there by noon. also OT had called saying they would be there by 1130am. What a mess.
Anyway I got the lady to come that had been with him last night til midnight. She had to bring her grandson that is 11, which is fine with me...he is always well behaved.
so I got to bed about 1030am after working all night. she stayed til Noon and then the regular gal showed up. I had a good talk with her tonight. I had been on some errands and had just got back and here she comes walking out the front door....leaving. I told her never to leave unless she was sure one of us was there with him. She says...I seen the bathroom light on and assumed you were there. What a nightmare. I am thinking of replacing her. She is too unreliable.
