Hey Houston,

I believe I'm one whom you think posts racist material but a recent post of mine described
how it's not.

Anyway, when anyone feels some animosity toward another "group" there's usually a reason.  OR
the system perpetrates it.  The 1960s were prime time for such system crudity.

Example:

In the 1960s my husband had the grades (TOP GRADES- would have gotten scholarships)) to get into medical school.
He applied to Harvard.  He got a letter back saying DIRECTLY that they HAD to take a black student over him to
fill their quota.  Despite maybe the black aplyee DID NOT HAVE the best grades.  The letter indicated color
directly!
As in "We have to take the poor less-educated colored folks and treat them NOT EQUALLY BUT SPECIALLY!"

THIS type of "direct wording" in a school or job notification would never happen today!  And my husband could kick himself for not 'keeping' that letter because what an exploitation that would be today!

Even with the disabled population ... when I worked for an ILC ... our motto was not to be treated SPECIAL ... just equal.
If someone disabled HAD NOT the skills, training or schooling for a job ... like our able-bodied population ... we shouldn't
expect to get the job.  Or get accepted to a college, etc.

So, Houston ... how would YOU feel back then or today if you were more than eligible to get into a college or were highly
skilled to get a job AND THEN WERE TOLD OUTRIGHT AND CLEARLY that they now have to take a white person
over you soley based on skin color???

The black population were given all these "breaks" ONLY because of skin color was/is lunacy!  And it hasn't
changed (in mind) all that much.  Charities for black college funds exist.  Why not whites because of the same impoverishment
mind set?

You can see Oprah favoring her black bothers and sisters when "giving away" this or that.  AS IF we're still living
in the dark ages!

These are just a few examples out of `100s.

And I hope my extra comments don't distract from my question above.  For Houston or anyone.  But since Houston is black
and is so hot & bothered ... moreseo for him.

In peace,
Lori
