Depends on what you "mean" by foot problems. It could include a whole host of things!
The biggest problem I have had over my 25 yrs (especially the last 15 yrs) is swelling (edema).
They'd get to the point of looking like big potatoes ONLY because of gravity from sitting many hours.
Just elevating them WHILE *IN* THE CHAIR does not help them. Only by laying flat on my back
with them at or above the heart level ... will they go down.
They haven't been like potatoes, though, in a long time (5-6 yrs) because I've limited my hours in
the chair.
What *you* describe, however, sounds like either you've neglected having your aide (or family member)
to do range of motion or good strong foot flexes (pushing them completely vertical) DAILY to avoid
"drop foot."
AND, if in bed, pushing a pillow or wedge up against them so they CAN NOT curl downward or inward.
Some wear special sheep-skin booties while in bed to avoid the foot curl or drop too. A pillow is
sufficient for me. If I do not put that pillow there ... I see my feet curling up and dropping down badly ..
which also exacerbates my swelling.
And ... have you not worn footwear when up in your chair (since you injury) that keeps the feet straight?
It sounds like simple neglect by not doing the above. I'd get on top of it TODAY and EVERY DAY
from now on unless you want the witchy-poo curled-up look permanently to the point of no return.
Take care!

Subject: [QUAD-L] ? Any FEET PROBLEMS?
Hey All,
I wonder, if ANYONE has had or HEARD OF, any foot problems? From lack of weight distribution, maybe? I've heard NO ONE speak of such. Yet, since not being able to stand on mine, they've curled up like The Wicked-Witches sister, after the house falls on her! ANY IDEAS???
Thanks,
Alley101
