Yes, it's 'called' a cyst or syrinx but it's cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) that has someone's cord fill up with it (the CSF).  CSF is usually
found surrounding, and thus bathing, the brain & spinal cord in the normal person and I probably have that normality along WITH IT INSIDE THE CORD.

But the CSF getting inside the cord (and causing problems) is a mystery.  (Dr's are perplexed as to WHY/HOW this occurs).  I had a shunt but in to drain it in my chest cavity so as far as I know my cyst is still deflated by draining it.  I haven't had an MRI since 1998 though.

No... not too much of a storm here.  We had some high winds a week or two ago that lasted a day.

Tucson was heading toward the record of 39 days in a row with triple digits but unsure we made it.  On Friday we began to get remnants from hurricane Emily (below/around Mexico) and it dropped our temps to the 90s!  Nice reprieve from the ongoing high temps.  I like the heat but 110 day after day is too much.

I went to walk my dog Saturday night (I think it was) at 6PM and was shocked that it was only 83 degrees!  I haven't seen 80 temps since May!

But, yesterday along came 38% humidity which ya feel when we average 7-12% humidity ... LOL.

So hopefully we'll make it through the week below 100 daytimes.  A couple nights Tucson got a lot of thunder & lightening and lucky parts got some rain.  Where we live (north Tucson) it rarely rains.  We see it all around us but nada here :-(

Hi Lori,
The Sirinx Cyst is the thing in the spine right? Like a hollow thing filled with liquid?
Years ago the Doc said I have one, but he didn't want to do anything unless it started really bothering me with pain or loosing mobility. The x-ray shows my neck has a funny bend in it. He said at some point I might need to fix it with surgery.

Did you get that storm the other day down there? Out lawn chairs were down the street. Non stop lightning and high winds.

My pain and discomfort began w/ abdominal stuff too.  After 4-5 yrs of procedures (GI series, ultrasounds
CT scans, etc) with everything being 'negative' ... I finally had an MRI and a lengthy syrinx was found.  I did have a shunt put in but it damn near killed me.
The spine can cause pain ANYWHERE.  Cyst or not.
