Hi Wheels,
Did they have clowns there? My brother had a gig up in Chicago this weekend so maybe he was in the parade! Anyone in the St. Louis area needing a professional clown can contact him at http://www.kelmerklowns.com/ ... just tell him 'Dave' recommended him! ;-)

The parade is over, but the celebrating continues.....
What started out to be organized as a paraded, ended up with an enormous
reunion, and that was good. The weather had been predicted to be hot, hot, hot
this day but someone above (maybe Justin Dart) decided to start the day with a
light sprinkle.
After the sprinkle, the clouds remained long enough for all to enjoy the mile
long parade route to the park's destination, where cold water, bananas and
fresh fruit
was available to all. The temperature probably stayed in the low 80's with a
mild
wind to keep everyone who attended, cool. And that was good.
I got a chance to meet some friends from Progress Center for Independent and
Access
Living, as well as the recently named Commissioner of Chicago Mayor's Office
for
People with DisAbilities (MOPD) Karen Tamley, who re! places Dave Hansen who was
promoted to supervise the WorkForce Office.
Karen Tamley is no rookie to the post, having come from Access Living and
formerly
from Denver, CO where she was a housing advocate.
Dan "The Man" Wilkins, from 9th Degree was there with his t's, celebrating
the 2nd Annual disAbilities Pride Parade.
Mike Irwin, from New Mobility Magazine and Greg Smith's- On The Roll Radio,
was there also with his girlfriend Ronnie P.
All in all, it was a great day and most are already looking forward to
planning for
next year's event which promises to grow even more....
