I had a sore around 6 months after leaving rehab. The only reason I got one then, was that I didn't have a catheter, and was frequently wet. Since then, I've got a catheter, and no more sores (30 years post).

One thing that helps me out is that I'm an incomplete, and I feel pressure. When I've been sitting too long, I get real uncomfortable, and my leg spasms start acting up. So, I just listen to my body, and go lie down when my legs tell me to.

Also, I'm continuously (or nearly) moving in my chair (leaning from side to side, or front to back), which probably helps a lot in not getting sores.

Good luck in not getting any pressure sores; it is possible :)

to the ole-timers on the list... i was wondering how long before your first sore (if any) and are we destined for butt sores in just a matter of time. may sound like a stupid question but i'm curious as to can they actually be avoided.
