Leash training as a pup is easy to do and tougher when full grow but is still fairly easy. When pup is just 7 weeks we tie him up for a bit each day and let him figure out early on, that pulling and fighting the leash wont get him anywhere. Pup will soon stop whining and tugging and fall asleep. Then when tied to the chair (not your wrist drop out ;-)) they don't pull at all on walks unless trained to pull only on command.
