I'm still in the same boat with ya, Greg.  Most every other quad lives in that low-income or little-asset
bracket they we don't.  I'm proud to have accomplished what I did in life, be married, and so on
but it doesn't get me MediCAID (A.K.A. Welfare) help.  In my youth (age 16-24) I did but then went on to
set higher goals for myself.  Education, work, marriage.  Mommy & Daddy were out of the picture before
I was 16 so survival has been my pre-eminent tool ever since.

I think I told you that I had a church make an announcement and found someone from there.  However, she's
from the Philipines and has never done this before despite it being common sense.  But she's cheap for a city
of this size.  But she needs to speed up her work.  This Monday will be her 4th week with me.

In fact my husband does most of my care except what he CAN'T DO ... which is really WHY we were looking.
So she does what he can't.  And then I keep her here to do housework & misc stuff soooooooooo she's
here Mon, Wed, & Fridays for 3 hrs.  9:30AM-12:30PM.

PLUS I need help on my commode nights so my one aide that the agency once provided knows of
our desperation and comes every 3rd night to, AGAIN, do what hubby can not do alone.

SHE is "the perfect aide".  And she should be cloned!  LOL.  Please don't ask why the agency isn't
still paying her.  Long story.

Call yourself lucky to have your other aide cuz what if something happens to her?  Actually,
what did happen to her?  A break I suppose.  I hope she doesn't get homesick for Seattle in
the future.

Try calling churches to see if they have a bulletin board or a 'help' system.  The lady who cuts/highlights
my hair at Cost Cutter goes to a church whereby they have a whole "help system for those in need."
Unfortunately, her church is on the other side of town ... hour drive or so.

Keep trying.

I sure hate the hassles of trying to find help.
I wish there was a quad living neer by that could lend out their helper for an hour :-)
All I need is someone for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night.
Most agencies like a minimum of 3 hours per visit, but I found 1 that might do a 1 hour visit at a higher rate. I am going to try an ad, but I bet not many people want to commit to a weekend job that is only 1 hour in the morning and 1 at night.
I just hate this...
Greg
