Billy,

I'm glad you added "However, I will have to leave that up to the veterans of this particular conflict to judge on its authenticity."
Anyone will do, or put on a show to do, anything to make a buck or get ratings or suck in the weak-minded who can't see the forest because of the trees.  REALITY, REALISM, or REALISTIC and "The Media" is an oxymoron!

Michael Moore's shit proves that.  He even ADMITTED to adding footage to make it more realistic.  Maybe MORE FABRICATED, if anything, which only adds to its falsifying "real life."

We just can't get into these "reality shows."  Like the people don't know at least 8 cameras are angled all around them.  Yeah , right!

I was watching some Discovery Channel program or other whereby I noticed (WAIT, NO!  It was The Amazing Race re-run .. now on GSN after Millionaire) that in a matter of seconds .... people were unsure on whether to take ONE OF MANY big boats to whisk off to the next place (unsure where as I don't, didn't watch the show or it).

There HAD TO BE about 12 cameras considering choices made as well to catch front footage, rear footage, facial expressions and a myriad of other things on land, on the boat, and at sea that made it totally unreal.  I know this is a game show so it's not like what the reality shows try to portray but it gave one the slightest glimpse at the amount of technology that is needed to air these things.

UNLESS ONE IS THERE FIRSTHAND ... ITS GOTTEN SECOND-HAND AT BEST.  Adding rumors, gossip, speculation, personal political agendas and much more ... IT'S CALLED ENTERTAINMENT!

I have been watching the new series "Over There" and I find it to be about as realistic as I can possibly imagine.  I have not been over in that theater since Operation Desert Storm, but I think it is probably a pretty accurate depiction of what is going on currently.  However, I will have to leave that up to the veterans of this particular conflict to judge on its authenticity.  It is a very good show.

yes Mark, I saw it.  I couldn't believe that this happened and we weren't made aware of it.  Don Cheadle did a fantastic job.  Another good one is Gunner Palace, although it's a bit dated now.  Have you or has anyone else seen "over there" the
new show about Iraq?  I saw a part of it, but turned it off, as I was about to go to sleep and didn't want nightmares.  It's desperately realistic.

Has anyone seen this movie?
If you haven't it's a must see and sadly a true story.
