This disaster surpasses any know disaster in the last 300 years, when you consider the damage and loss of life, when all is said and done. No one could have imagined the destruction of this hurricane affecting the populations of 3 neighboring states.
But this disaster also demonstrates another important fact. This country could not handle a terrorist attack that damaged 3 states like this hurricane. We seem to have spent our money on scaring gray haired ladies at the airport with body cavity searches, instead of defending our borders..... One could also argue that people should not live near major cities that would be targets of terrorist actions. Once again, this would affect those unable to move to higher surroundings.... The poor.
