They can cause a lot of pain, which will cause AD, so I'm glad to hear you're not going to have to go through that again.

In '87 I had a few bladder stones, about dime sized, removed using Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL).  I'm careful to keep my calcium intake down now, and haven't had any problems since then.
