I DREAMED

 

Last night I dreamed I heard your voice;

But when I turned I heard the wind,

As it whispered through the leaves.

 

Last night I dreamed I felt your touch;

But when I looked it was the sun,

As it danced across my skin.

 

Last night I dreamed I heard your laugh;

But when I turned I saw a brook,

As its water splashed the stones.

 

Last night I dreamed among the stars:

The sun, the wind, and waterfalls,

And saw you were in them all.

 

Last night I dreamed I was alone;

But as I searched through out my mind,

I knew you’d always been there.
