i tend to describe my pain as if someone is dragging me down an asphalt road with no clothes on and setting me on fire.... if i have a day of just pins and needles it's a good day...
i don't take any pain meds as they don't help at all........

It's okay Lori... I do seem to have more pain than most people (with SCI) I talk to or read about on here andon the Care/Cure site. Just to clarify for every one why she thinks that, is that I have severe cold & needles burning in my whole abdominal area and back and have severe hot burning and needles in my butt, in between my legs, and down to my knees. Plus, I have tendinitis and bursitis in both my shoulders which causes some pain. The nerve pain is basically from my injury level down. And like Lori said, I have tried everything from medication to nerve blocks and nothing has helped. I recently had a baclofen pump put in and that has been a whole other story, but I am waiting to add pain medication to the pump. So no Lori, I'm calling my doctor Monday to find out if the medication (a local anesthetic, numbing medication) has arrived at the chronic pain clinic I go to (I've been waiting for two week! s for the medication). I'm praying this will be what I've been searching for for pain relief for nearly 12 years. As Lori mentioned, my nerves are shot and I recently went on Klonopin to help with the stress of it all.

No one can measure another's pain no matter how they tell you 'what they feel or what they're going through'. For the record, I've tried almost everything too even steroid injections.Diane
