And I had an aide within this past year who also worked at HEALTH SOUTH REHAB
here in Tucson, AZ. She was a hard working aide and had to pick up work the lazy
aides AND nurses left undone.
Lights went on in quad's rooms for the quad to get a drink. My aide said that nurses, instead
of just going in and giving a guy a few sips, would spend a half hour or more tracking down an aide
to do it!
And she said the Drs were horrible. Acted as gods and didn't do shit.
My aide said that many quads came to Rehab from the local hospitals with full-blown sores that
the rehab folks had to deal with. Plus, she said, most stank to high heaven as if no one even gave them a bath
in the hospitals!
But the Rehab "care" at HEALTH SOUTH was sour, at best. They're lucky when they get an aide like her
to make up for all the lazy jerks. *sigh*

One of my nurses when I was doing my rehab is now a director of the
spinal cord injury unit and she was telling me what insurance companies
are paying for rehab now. It's absolutely criminal. She said the
percentage of patients returning with pressure sores and other health
problem just keeps climbing. You'd think with all the statistical data
that insurance companies collect, they would see a link.
