Thank you for your suggestions. I was actually surprised how many people responded. I was curious about the scat mat. Does it cause the cat pain?  Being in a powerchair makes it impossible to get out quick. My hands don't work so the spray bottle won't work. Someone suggested Velcro by the door. My cat's really sweet, but I don't want to be a prisioner at home. The reason I contemplated the leash was I thought I'd have her on my lap. At least that way she couldn't go far. I just wanted an indoor cat. It's safer.

You could put a scat matt in front of the door.  Although the cat may learn top jump over it.

O.k here's the deal. I'm a quad and recently adopted an 8 month old cat. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get out the door without the cat running out? Also,  has anyone tried taking the cat out on a leash in the chair?
