I too have year or more of back-to-back UTIs, been to hospital 3 times... being so sick from so many UTI's for so long came very close to killing me... as it made me depressed I came close to Suicide... I thought I tried every thing which are made to help to prevent UTI's including a low-dose antibiotic with not much luck... by chance I met another quad that also had a bad run of UTI's until he started using a magnet placed on his bladder... he has now gone over 3 years being UTI free... so I too have been using a magnet on my bladder, I thought it's worth a try... I'm now gone 3 months with no UTI, this is a long while for me, it seems to be working... I also put a magnetic underlay on my bed which I find really helps ease the pain in a big way... the magnetic underlay is only a rather cheap one, paid around 50 dollars U.S... the pain eased up after the first night on sleeping on it..
the magnet which is on my bladder is flat and rather soft,  3 inches by 4 inches, made by Nikken, it cost around 100 dollars U.S... maybe a cheap one would work just as good I don't know... I just so happy it seems to be working, how or why it works I do not know, hopefully it'll keep working... it's worth a try,

just out of curiosity, what's the antibiotic?

I guess one is LESS LIKELY for bugs to become resistant to low dose antibiodics rather than 7-10 day
runs of high dosages.  And resistance can pose big threats.

Be sure one is on THE correct drug, however, by doing sensitivities with the culture.  Otherwise it's a futile
attempt at resolving the problem at large.

Subject: [QUAD-L] spasms

We found out what was causing all of Gabe’s bowel and bladder spasms. Another UTI, that means Gabe has had one almost steady for three months now. He has an appointment Thursday with urologist. I think it might be time for a series of antibiotic instillations. That is the only way he has kicked big ones before. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
