When I lived at home I rarely got infections. I
believe it had a lot to do with keeping the bags properly cleansed, too. At home
my caretaker would rinse out my bags with hot water then half fill them with
a equal mix of white vineagar and water then hang them over a towel rod in
a way where the connector end came in touch with nothing - I stayed UTI free for
years. Here when they do rinse it out it's not always throughly or with hot
water and they're required to put them in plastic bags so I keep a steady UTI!
I've put up written instructions, I've talked and tried to make them understand
but it's hard because some care, some don't.
